SYNOPSIS:
The Crossing by Georg Kurian chronicles the journey of a group of friends from Syria, who decide to leave their country in order to flee war and persecution. To do so, they have to abandon their families and friends. During the tough time, the mutual support helps them survive the hardships of the journey. After seven days aboard, they finally reach the shore. This is where they realize that the hardest part of the journey is still to come.
The subjects are people who were forced to escape their country and are trying to find their way through European cities. Living in uncertainty and constant waiting, without family or not knowing the language, they are moved from one refugee centre to another. They confront what being a “refugee” means, and gradually lose hope for a better life in search of which they came to Europe.
